Description
This item is a limited edition collector print titled Morning Moon by the Kentucky artist Paul Sawyier (1865-1917). The piece is an offset lithograph after an original watercolor, depicting a misty morning landscape at Elkhorn Creek. The composition includes bare trees and a rustic fence line under a soft morning moon, with the scene reflected in the water. The work is signed in plate at the lower left. It is housed in a gilt wood frame with a beaded inner border and is double-matted in cream and sienna tones. Attached to the reverse is a certificate of authentication from Paul Sawyier Galleries, Inc. of Frankfort, Kentucky, dated 1974, certifying the print as one of a limited edition of 2,000. A framing sticker from The Finishing Touch in Shelbyville, Kentucky, is also located on the paper backing. Frame Size: 22.5 x 17.5 inches.
