Description
This is an antique carbide, or acetylene, mining cap lamp manufactured by the Justrite Manufacturing Company. The device is constructed with a brass body and a plated metal reflector. The top surface of the water reservoir is stamped with manufacturer and patent information including JUSTRITE, MADE IN USA, and PAT NO JULY 15 ’23. The lamp features a streamlined design and retains its primary functional components, including a top-mounted water control lever, a hinged water filler cap, a striker wheel positioned on the reflector, and a vertical hook on the reverse for mounting to a cap. Reflector Diameter: 4 inches Height: 4 inches Body Width: 2.25 inches.
