Description
This is a framed limited edition collector print titled The Suter Home after an original watercolor by the Kentucky artist Paul Sawyier (1865-1917). The scene features a small white cottage with blue shutters situated on a rocky ledge overlooking a shallow creek, rendered in an impressionistic style with soft greens, ochre, and blues. The print includes the printed title THE SUTER HOME and By PAUL SAWYIER in the lower margin, where it is also hand-numbered 31/500 in the lower right. A printed signature is visible in the lower right corner of the image area. The work is presented in a gilt-finished wooden frame with a pale green linen-textured mat and a gold inner fillet under glass. The reverse features an authentication label from Paul Sawyier Galleries, Inc., of Frankfort, Kentucky, dated 1972 and hand-signed by Joseph R. Discher. The label certifies that the original art was authenticated as an original Paul Sawyier painting and that this print is one of 500 numbered copies from a total edition of 6,000.12.5 inches wide by 13.5 inches high.
