Description
This is a limited edition color reproduction print after an original watercolor by the Kentucky artist Paul Sawyier (1865-1917), titled Train at High Bridge. The composition captures a steam locomotive crossing the High Bridge over the Kentucky River in a soft, impressionistic style with a small steamboat and riverbank foliage in the foreground. The work is signed in the plate at the lower right as PAUL SAWYIER and is hand-numbered 596/2000 in ink. It is professionally mounted in a dark wood frame under glass, featuring a double mat with a cream-colored textured outer layer and a thin brown inner fillet. The reverse displays a central authentication label from Equine Arts of Lexington, Kentucky, providing artist biographical information and noting the reproduction was copyrighted in 1987. A secondary label for Creekside Framing of Lawrenceburg, KY, is also present on the backing paper.Frame dimensions: 23 1/8 x 28 1/8 inches.
