Description
This item is a limited edition print after an original watercolor by the Kentucky artist Paul Sawyier, titled Old Capitol in the Snow. The composition depicts an atmospheric, misty winter scene of St. Clair Street in Frankfort, Kentucky, with the Old State Capitol building visible in the background and figures and a horse-drawn carriage in the foreground. Rendered in an American Impressionist style, the work bears a printed signature in the lower left corner. The print is presented in a gilt-finished wood frame with a linen-textured mat and a dark inner fillet. The verso includes an informational label from the Frankfort Blue Print Co. that certifies the work as a limited edition of 3,000 and bears a handwritten signature in blue ink by Ron Walpert.Frame: 20 3/4 x 16 1/2 inches.
