Description
This photomechanical lithographic reproduction is after an original watercolor by Paul Sawyier (American, 1865-1917), titled River Pathway. The Impressionistic landscape depicts a serene riverbank scene on the Kentucky River near Camp Nelson, featuring blooming thistles in the foreground and a towering rock cliff face in the distance under a soft, hazy sky. The work is signed in the plate at the lower right Paul Sawyier. It is housed in a decorative silver-toned frame with a triple mat of white, blue, and tan. The verso retains a comprehensive informational and authentication label from Paul Sawyier Galleries, Inc., which identifies the piece as part of a limited edition of 3,000 prints produced in 1979 by the Stevenson Photo Color Company.Overall frame dimensions: 22 x 30 inches.
