Description
An offset lithograph after an original watercolor by American regionalist artist Paul Sawyier (1865–1917), titled Dix River – Fish Trap. The composition illustrates a river scene featuring prominent sycamore trees along the bank and a shallow rocky shoal in the water. The piece is rendered in a soft impressionistic style with a muted palette of pale greens, grays, and earth tones. The artist signature is visible in the plate at the lower right corner. The print is professionally housed in a gilt-finished wood frame with a cream-colored mat and a dark green beveled interior edge. The reverse side features a framing label from Eugene’s Gallery in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, dated January 30, 1982, with stock number P-169.Width: 27 inchesHeight: 21.25 inches.
