Description
This is a limited edition collector print titled Winter Solitude, based on an original watercolor by American Impressionist artist Paul Sawyier (1865-1917). The scene depicts the Old Covered Bridge in Frankfort, Kentucky, during the early 1890s, featuring two figures walking on a snow-covered street towards the bridge entrance with a church steeple visible in the background. The artwork is signed in the plate Paul Sawyier at the lower left. The verso features an authentication label from Paul Sawyier Galleries, Inc., of Frankfort, Kentucky, identifying this as print number 433 of a limited edition of 3,000. The certificate is dated 1976 and signed by Coleman Coffey. The print is presented in a double mat under glass and housed in a fluted gilt frame featuring a brass title plate inscribed Winter Solitude. A secondary label for Countryside Framing of Lawrenceburg, KY, is also present on the back.Frame: 22 x 17 inches.
