Description
This is a limited edition collector print titled Lover’s Rain by Kentucky artist Paul Sawyier (1865-1917). The vertical photomechanical reproduction depicts a couple walking under an umbrella across the rainy Old Iron Bridge in Frankfort, Kentucky, alongside a prominent gas street lamp. The artist’s signature is visible in the plate at the bottom left of the image. The title and artist’s name are printed in typeface in the bottom margin. The reverse side features a comprehensive certificate of authenticity from the Frankfort Blue Print Company, identifying this as print number 1907 from a limited edition of 3,000. The certificate is hand-signed by Ron Walpert for the publisher and Brenda Howard for the Mayme Bull Collection, and includes an embossed corporate seal. The work is presented with a double mat in an ornate gilt-finished frame decorated with foliate and floral relief patterns.Frame dimensions: 23.5 x 11.25 inches.
