Description
This pair of art prints, after watercolor originals by American Impressionist artist Paul Sawyier (1865–1917), depicts atmospheric scenes of Frankfort, Kentucky. The horizontal print is titled Covered Bridge in Autumn and illustrates figures with umbrellas near a bridge during a rain shower. The vertical work, titled Wapping Street Reflections, features an ornate streetlamp fountain in a town square under similar overcast conditions. Both prints are rendered in a soft Impressionist style and bear the printed signature of the artist, Paul Sawyier, in the lower right corner. They are housed in ornate gold-toned molded frames under glass with cream-colored mats.
