Description
A vintage gasoline blowtorch manufactured by the Clayton and Lambert Manufacturing Co. of Louisville, Kentucky. This industrial tool features a cylindrical brass fuel tank with a flared base and a cast iron or steel burner assembly mounted to the top. A red-painted wooden handle is attached to the side via a black-finished metal bracket. The burner assembly includes a black fluted control knob and a top-mounted hook. The tank features two partially surviving decals. One decal shows the shield-shaped Protection logo with the manufacturer name fragments Clayt and Louis. The second decal provides safety and operating instructions, including the phrases Tighten Filler Plug With Wrench and Wipe Spilled G… Tank Before. The bottom of the tank contains a threaded brass filler plug with a folding wing-style key. Height: 10 inches Width: 9.5 inches Base Diameter: 5.5 inches.
