Description
An antique tea kettle or stove humidifier featuring a bulbous, heavy-walled cast iron body. The base displays a prominent vertical gate mark, approximately 3 inches in length, which indicates 19th-century sand-casting manufacturing. The kettle is equipped with a swivel-action lid decorated with raised concentric circular rings that pivots on a single pin. It features a high-arched wire bail handle fitted with a black-finished turned wooden grip. The flared spout is integral to the body casting. The exterior shows a dark, aged finish with visible surface oxidation. The interior is unlined cast iron.
