Description
This is an American stoneware crock of cylindrical form featuring a slightly flared rim and two molded ear-style lugs that secure a thin wire bale handle. The item includes a matching domed lid with a central button-style knob. The entire exterior surface is decorated with a cobalt blue spongeware pattern over a cream stoneware ground. The interior has a clear glaze finish. The base of the crock shows concentric wire-cut marks from the manufacturing process. No maker’s marks, capacity markings, or factory stamps are visible on the body or the base.
