Description
This item is a limited edition photomechanical lithographic reproduction of an original watercolor painting titled Wapping Street Reflections by the American Impressionist artist Paul Sawyier. The composition depicts a rainy street scene in Frankfort, Kentucky, centered on an ornate cast-iron street lamp and fountain. The wet pavement reflects the surrounding environment, including figures carrying umbrellas and the distant silhouette of the First Baptist Church tower. The print is hand-numbered 1283/3500 in graphite at the lower right and includes the artist signature within the plate. It is presented in a double mat of cream and dark teal within an ornate gold-toned molded frame featuring scrolling foliate patterns. The reverse of the frame features an authentication label from Paul Sawyier Galleries, Inc., dated 1982, which includes a biography of the artist and historical notes regarding the location.17.5 inches (width)24.5 inches (height).
