Description
This lot features a limited edition collector print titled Barbeque Spring after an original watercolor by the American Impressionist artist Paul Sawyier. The scene depicts a landscape along South Elkhorn Creek in Kentucky, featuring a man in the foreground drinking from a vessel while holding a fishing rod, and a second figure fishing further along the bank. The print captures the soft, atmospheric quality and light-filled palette characteristic of Sawyier’s regional work. The signature PAUL SAWYIER is printed at the lower right. The artwork is housed in an ornate, two-tone gilt and dark-patinated molded frame with a double-layered mat and an inset title plaque. The reverse side includes a comprehensive informational label with text by Nettie Glenn and an authentication seal from the Frankfort Blue Print and Supply Co. of Kentucky, stating the print is from a limited edition of 2,500.
