Description
A Japanese Type 38 Arisaka bolt action rifle chambered in 6.5x50mm, featuring a standard 31.4 inch barrel. The rifle measures approximately 50 3/8 inches in overall length as indicated by the included measurement. Verbatim markings on the receiver ring include an intact Imperial Chrysanthemum above the Japanese characters for Type 38, transcribed as 三八å¼. Two gas vent holes are present on the receiver. The left side of the receiver is marked with the serial number 67258, a series symbol, and the Tokyo/Kokura arsenal mark. The blued steel components exhibit significant wear and surface oxidation throughout. This rifle is in a modified or sporterized state and is missing the forward section of the wood stock and the upper handguard, leaving the barrel and ladder-style rear sight exposed. The remaining two-piece wood buttstock features a metal buttplate and a rear sling swivel.
