Description
This is a Japanese Arisaka Type 99 bolt-action rifle chambered in 7.7x58mm, originally designed as a military service arm and currently presented in a sporterized configuration. The rifle features a 26 inch barrel with a blued finish and a bolt-action system characterized by a large safety knob at the rear of the bolt. The receiver is fitted with a folding rear leaf sight and a hooded front sight post. The wooden stock has been modified, with the forward handguard and nose cap assembly missing, and the wrist of the stock is reinforced with a heavy wrapping of black tape. The overall length of the firearm is approximately 44 inches. Key markings include a small circular arsenal mark followed by the serial number 11515 on the left side of the receiver; the imperial chrysanthemum mark on the top of the receiver is not clearly visible. This firearm is missing its original forward stock hardware and handguard.
