Description

This limited edition collector print is after an original watercolor by American artist Paul Sawyier (1865-1917), titled Barbeque Spring. The composition depicts a tranquil fishing scene on the South Elkhorn Creek in Kentucky, featuring two figures on a rocky bank. One man in a tan jacket holds a fishing rod while drinking from a cup, while a second figure stands further along the shore near several wooden tubs. The work is rendered in a soft, impressionistic style. The print bears a facsimile signature in the lower right corner reading Paul Sawyier. It is professionally presented in a white mat with a gold-bordered inset title window. The reverse of the frame features an authentication label from the Frankfort Blue Print Co. of Frankfort, Kentucky, certifying this as a limited edition print from a run of 2,500. The piece is housed in an ornate gilt and dark-toned composite frame with saw-tooth hangers on the reverse.Overall framed dimensions: 21 x 27 inches.
