Description
This is an antique hand-cranked butter churn featuring a cast metal mechanical assembly and a clear glass jar. The metal frame is embossed with the maker name DAZEY. The mechanism consists of a large vertical drive gear connected to a smaller horizontal pinion gear that rotates a central metal shaft. Attached to the shaft are two wooden paddles designed to agitate cream. The jar is constructed of clear glass with a paneled barrel-style design consisting of ten vertical panels. A wire bail handle with a turned wooden grip is attached to the neck of the jar, and the crank arm features a matching wooden handle.
