Paul Sawyier Going to the Spring Limited Edition Offset Lithograph
Description
This framed limited edition offset lithograph, titled Going to the Spring, is after an original watercolor by Paul Sawyier. The landscape composition depicts two figures walking along a path in a misty autumnal field, featuring a large haystack to the right and a small wooden bridge crossing a stream in the foreground. The print is a numbered edition, with a printed number reading 1309 of 2000 in the lower right margin. It features several printed inscriptions within the margins: Plate Number 22 and Copyright 1972 by Paul Sawyier Galleries, Inc. appear at the bottom left; From The Private Collection of Miss Margaret King is printed at the top right. A facsimile signature reading PAUL SAWYIER is visible in the lower right of the image itself. The work is presented in a double mat, consisting of a textured green fabric outer mat and a narrow brown inner mat, and is housed in a dark-wash wooden frame with a decorative grain. The reverse of the frame bears a framer’s stamp reading Hatfield and Sons Picture Framing 302 Kenwood Way 368-6863.Frame: 23 1/2 x 23 1/2 inches.
