Description
A cast composite figurative sculpture featuring a multi-tonal bronze patina. The work depicts the bust of a woman with her hair gathered in a bun, looking down toward a sleeping infant cradled in her arms. The figures are enveloped in stylized, flowing drapery that forms the body of the sculpture. The piece is mounted to a rectangular black-painted base. An incised cursive signature reading Heath is located on the rear drapery (photo 5). A stamped mark on the lower rear near the base reads Austin SCULPTURE followed by a copyright symbol and the year 1993 (photo 6). The patina includes green verdigris-style highlights within the recessed areas of the casting.12.25 x 10 x 6 inches.
