Description
A large mixed media kinetic assemblage on board by artist Greg Starnes, dated 1998. The foreground features three clear acrylic cylinders containing tiered circuit boards with integrated LED arrays. The central tall column, mounted on a base labeled Cosmic Shower, contains green LEDs, while the two shorter flanking columns, on bases labeled Cosmic Cyclone, contain red LEDs. The internal components are connected by spiral wires. Each cylinder is mounted to a black acrylic base equipped with two control knobs labeled Auto/Sound Sensitivity and Off On Speed. A stylized painted signature in the lower right of the green panel reads Starnes 98. Each black base also features a signature in white script reading Greg Starnes. The assembly utilizes industrial materials including metal hose clamps and colored tape in green and magenta at the cylinder bases.Height: 78 inchesBase Width: 11.5 inchesBase Depth: 12 inches.
