Description
A molded plastic model of a space shuttle launch stack including the orbiter Discovery, an orange external fuel tank, and two white solid rocket boosters. The assembly is positioned on a grey mobile launcher platform base featuring molded crawler tread details. The orbiter is equipped with functional opening payload bay doors that reveal a satellite payload housed inside. The set is accompanied by a separate stand-up accessory sign. The top of the sign features the printed text CONTROL CENTER and the bottom reads READY! LAUNCH, centered around an image of a mission control room. The port wing of the orbiter bears a printed circular blue, white, and red NASA insignia. The fuselage side is marked with a printed United States flag, the name Discovery, and the characters United States. A thin clear band is wrapped around the central external tank to secure the orbiter and boosters in place.Measured from the bottom of the crawler treads to the top of the external fuel tank, the model stands approximately 10.75 inches tall.
