Description
This lot features two decorative evening bags of varying styles and motifs. The primary piece is a structured Mary Frances handbag constructed from gold jacquard fabric with an intricate floral and scrollwork pattern. The exterior is heavily embellished with hand-applied glass and plastic beads, faux pearls, and sequins. A prominent central medallion features a large faux-stone cabochon within a beaded border, finished with a beaded fringe. The multi-strand handle is composed of coordinating bronze and cream seed beads and faux pearls. The interior is lined in brown fabric and contains a white fabric tag reading MARY FRANCES, a manufacturing tag marked MADE IN THE PHILIPPINES with the number 223, and a magnetic snap closure marked U.S. PAT. 5,274,889. The second piece is an unmarked miniature beaded clutch featuring a vibrant butterfly and floral design. The bag is densely covered in multi-colored seed beads, sequins, and molded plastic butterfly-shaped beads in shades of green, blue, pink, and orange. It is set within a silver-tone metal frame with a double-ball kiss-lock closure and includes a detachable silver-tone chain shoulder strap.
