Description
This American stoneware harvest jug, also known as a mower’s jug, features a cylindrical body and a rounded shoulder. The shoulder is ornamented with a molded foliate or stylized leaf design. The vessel includes a short, upturned pouring spout and a secondary small vent hole on the top to facilitate smooth pouring. It is finished in a light cream-colored salt or slip glaze. The jug is equipped with a wire bail handle and a turned wooden grip attached to ceramic lugs. No maker’s marks, factory stamps, or capacity numbers are visible on the item. Height: 6 1/2 inches Diameter: 6 inches.
