Description
This lot features a limited edition offset lithograph collector print after an original watercolor by the Kentucky artist Paul Sawyier, titled Snowy Sentinel. The composition, originally painted in 1916, depicts an impressionistic winter landscape with a snow-covered hillside and sparse, bare branches. The print was issued in 1976 by Paul Sawyier Galleries, Inc., of Frankfort, Kentucky, in a limited edition of 2,000. The artwork is presented in a triple-matted arrangement within a gold-toned wooden frame that features a dark-painted inner channel. The verso retains a gallery authentication label signed by Coleman Coffey and a stamped mark for the KY. DEPT. OF LIBRARY & ARCHIVES. Frame dimensions: 17.75 x 23.75 inches.
