Description
This photomechanical lithograph by American artist Paul Sawyier (1865-1917) is titled Moonlight at High Bridge. The composition depicts a tranquil river scene at night with a small cottage and additional structures at the base of a hill, illuminated by moonlight reflected on the water. The print is numbered 185/750 in the lower left corner and features a plate signature. Attached to the verso is documentation from the Paul Sawyier Galleries and the University of Kentucky Art Museum, which identifies the original work as a watercolor painted during the artist’s residence at High Bridge and Shakertown Village between 1908 and 1913. The piece is professionally housed in an ornate, molded gold-tone frame with a forest green and tan double mat under glass. Overall framed dimensions: 24.5 x 20.5 inches.
