Description
This ornate tabletop vanity mirror is designed in the Rococo Revival style, featuring characteristic ornamentation consistent with late 19th or early 20th-century decorative arts. The piece centers a rectangular beveled mirror plate set within an inner frame decorated with an engraved geometric fretwork pattern. The outer cast metal frame, featuring a brass finish, is heavily decorated with scrolling acanthus leaves, C-scrolls, and floral motifs against a textured stippled background. The mirror is mounted on a U-shaped swivel bracket, allowing for adjustable tilting. It sits atop a flared pedestal base with elaborate pierced foliate and scroll openwork, terminating in four shaped feet. While visually consistent with pieces produced by the National Brass and Iron Works, no legible maker marks or signatures were identified on the frame or base.
