Description
This lot features a photomechanical lithographic reproduction titled Main Street Trolley, based on an original watercolor by American artist Paul Sawyier (1865-1917). The composition illustrates a rainy day scene in Frankfort, Kentucky, depicting pedestrians with umbrellas and a trolley car near the columned facade of the Old Capital Hotel. The piece was printed in 1991 by the Stevenson Photo Color Company and is a limited edition, numbered 2487/5000. It features a printed signature from the artist in the lower right corner. The print is housed in a gilded wood frame with a beaded inner edge, secured under glass and surrounded by a double mat.
