Description
This antique mechanical cherry stoner is manufactured by the New Standard Corp of Mt. Joy, Pennsylvania. The device is constructed of cast iron and features a table-mounting C-clamp for secure attachment to a work surface. The unit consists of a top-loading hopper that feeds into a housing containing an internal rotating disc mechanism, which is manually operated by a hand crank finished with a coiled wire spring grip. The cast iron housing is embossed on both sides with the maker’s name and location, reading NEW STANDARD CORP. MT. JOY. PA. One side is further marked with the word LEFT and the opposing side is marked RIGHT. The internal rotating disc bears the cast inscription MADE IN U.S.A. The piece exhibits an aged, dark oxidized patina throughout.Body length: Approximately 7 inchesOverall length including bracket: Approximately 12 inches.
