Description
An antique wall-mounted magneto telephone featuring a solid oak cabinet with a natural finish. This early 20th-century unit was produced by the Chicago Telephone Supply Company of Elkhart, Indiana. The front of the oak box features two brass-finished ringer bells at the top. Centered on the front is a fixed transmitter mouthpiece mounted on a black metal arm. A metal manufacturer plate is located directly below the mouthpiece. The base of the unit features a slanted wooden writing shelf. On the left side, a black composition receiver hangs from a metal hook switch and is connected by a brown fabric-covered cord. The right side of the cabinet is equipped with a black-handled hand crank for the magneto and a small white porcelain push button. The back of the telephone shows the original mounting board with a diagonal wiring groove and multiple mounting holes.Height: 23.5 inchesWidth: 12.5 inches (including receiver)Depth: 9 inches.
