An American country style ladder-back side chair. The frame is constructed of turned hardwood, such as maple or ash, and features two horizontal back slats set between turned upright posts. The chair is supported by turned legs joined by a double set of stretchers on all sides, with the front-facing stretchers featuring decorative ring turnings. The seat is composed of a woven brown fabric tape or heavy cord arranged in a checkerboard block pattern.
