Description
A single American Windsor-style rocking chair constructed from quartersawn tiger oak. The chair features a wide, shaped crest rail displaying prominent medullary rays, supported by seven vertical spindles and two outer back posts. The sinuous, scrolled armrests are supported by turned stumps and socketed into the back posts. The solid, contoured seat is mounted on four turned legs reinforced by a central H-stretcher. The base is set upon two long, curved rockers. Construction features spindles and posts socketed directly into the seat and crest rail. No maker’s marks or labels are visible.
