SHIPPING NOT AVAILABLE, FOR PICK UP OR TRANSPORT ONLY – This is an American Golden Oak slant-front secretary desk, often referred to as a lady’s desk. The piece is constructed from quarter-sawn oak, displaying the prominent medullary ray grain pattern known as tiger oak. The desk features a slant lid that opens to a fitted interior consisting of multiple pigeonholes and shelves supported by curved vertical dividers. Above the writing surface is an ornate gallery crest featuring deep-relief carved scrolls surrounding a central semi-circular beveled mirror. Below the writing surface is a single full-width drawer. The desk is supported by four curved cabriole legs. Hardware includes two darkened metal bail pulls on the drawer and decorative metal escutcheons on the drawer and slant lid.
