A vintage coal scuttle of traditional helmet form, constructed from black-painted sheet metal. The body features vertical fluted ribbing that extends around the circumference and onto the flared pedestal base. It is equipped with a swinging brass bail handle and a fixed, shell-shaped brass handle at the rear to facilitate pouring. The underside of the base is stamped with an impressed numeral 11.Length of opening: 15.5 inchesWidth of opening: 11 inchesHeight to rim: 11.5 inches.
