Description
This reproduction offset lithograph is after an original watercolor by American artist Paul Sawyier (1865–1917), titled Going to the Spring. The composition features an impressionistic rural landscape with two figures walking through a field toward a small building. The print is a commercial limited edition, hand-numbered 61/2000 in the lower right margin. The lower margin also includes the printed title and the artist’s name. Additional printed inscriptions indicate this is Plate Number 22 from The Private Collection of Miss Margaret King and carries a Copyright 1972 by Paul Sawyier Galleries, Inc. The artist’s signature is plate-signed in the lower right of the image. The work is presented in a double-layered frame featuring a dark green molded outer frame and a textured wood-grain inner frame. The reverse is sealed with brown paper backing that includes handwritten notes mentioning R. B. Powell and Public Service Com 24th floor. Frame: 19.75 x 19.75 inches.
