Description
This is a vintage Aladdin Journey Jug, a heavy-duty insulated thermal container manufactured by Aladdin Industries, Inc., in Chicago, U.S.A. The jug is constructed with a metal exterior shell finished in an original olive green paint. The interior features a thick, white ceramic or stoneware liner designed to keep contents hot or cold. The unit is complete with its original aluminum screw-top cap and a separate internal vacuum stopper made of ribbed glass with a metal top and rubber gasket. A wire bail handle with a turned-wood grip is mounted to the shoulders. The front of the container bears a multi-colored lithographed label identifying the brand and model. The label includes several patent dates: November 14, 1922; June 17, 1924; and March 31, 1925. Height: Approximately 12.5 inches Diameter: Approximately 9.5 inches.
