Description
This Harrington & Richardson Topper Model 48 is a single-shot, break-action shotgun chambered in 16 gauge, intended for general field use. The firearm features an approximately 30-inch blued steel barrel, bringing the overall length to approximately 44.5 inches. The steel receiver is finished in a dark, aged patina and features a stippled engraving on the left side depicting a feline predator. Verbatim markings on the receiver include the model designation MODEL 48 on the right side, with HARRINGTON & RICHARDSON ARMS CO, WORCESTER, MASS. MADE IN USA, and the serial number J 44857. The furniture consists of a plain wood pistol-grip stock and matching forend, both exhibiting a semi-gloss finish and typical light handling marks. The shotgun is equipped with a traditional external hammer, a top-mounted break-action lever, a brass bead front sight, and a black synthetic buttplate.
