Description
A Dietz No. 2 D-Lite tubular kerosene lantern manufactured in New York, U.S.A. This cold-blast model features a tubular steel frame with a black finish and a large-capacity fount. The lantern is equipped with a red glass globe, which is secured by a protective wire cage guard. The top chimney cap is embossed with the text DIETZ, N.Y. U.S.A., and MADE IN U.S.A. The base of the unit is embossed with NO. 2 D-Lite. It retains its original fuel filler cap and a wire bail handle. The red globe indicates historical use for signaling or as a warning light, often associated with railroad or industrial applications.
