Description
This lot features a pair of matching miniature stoneware whiskey jugs designed for use as salt and pepper shakers. Each jug is formed with a bulbous body, a short neck, and a small applied strap handle. The shakers are decorated in a traditional two-tone glaze scheme, featuring a dark brown slip glaze on the upper shoulder, neck, and handle, and a light tan or buff-colored salt glaze on the lower body. Each shaker is topped with a gray metal cap containing a single dispensing hole. The unglazed bases are incised with the mark USA. Height: 3.5 inches Diameter: 2 inches.
