Description
This vintage kitchen tool is a Dazey No. 40 glass butter churn, produced by the Dazey Churn and Manufacturing Company of St. Louis, Missouri. The piece features a square clear glass jar with a screw-on cast metal lid that houses a mechanical hand-crank assembly. The glass body is embossed with a circular logo reading DAZEY CHURN AND MFG. CO. NO 40 – MADE IN ST. LOUIS – U.S.A. near the center and 4 QT near the top shoulder. The mechanical top includes an exposed gear system driven by a crank arm with a turned wooden handle. The internal dasher consists of two rectangular paddles attached to a central metal shaft. The base of the glass jar is molded with the numbers 4 332. Height: 14.5 inches Base: 6 inches x 6 inches Width including handle: 11 inches.
