Description
A pair of vintage ceramic figural spirit decanters. The first vessel is modeled as a standing brown bear with a textured, high-gloss glaze and a removable head stopper. It features a blank oval cartouche on the front of the rocky base and bears the incised mark FS7 on the reverse. The second vessel depicts two basketball players in action; one athlete wears a green uniform with the number 6, while the opponent wears white with blue trim and the number 8. A removable basketball stopper fits into the top of the taller player’s hands. Both figures are set on a white pedestal base with a blue-painted lower rim. These decanters are stylistically consistent with the commemorative liquor containers produced by companies like Ezra Brooks and Jim Beam during the 1960s and 1970s.
