A collection of twenty-eight cast resin or composite figurines depicting a variety of scenes from Black American life, including family, church, and community activities. The figures are executed in a folk-art-inspired style with textured surfaces and a matte, hand-painted finish. The assortment includes choir members in robes holding hymnals, a man at an organ, a small nativity scene, a mother in a rocking chair with an infant, and a family seated on a bench holding Bibles. Additional vignettes feature a boy reading an ABC book with two dogs, a musician with a double bass, an angel playing a trumpet, and various children with toys, animals, and baskets of grain. No factory marks, model numbers, or artist signatures are visible on the pieces or their bases.
