Description
A collection of ten ceramic figurines from the Hoffman Distilling Company Mr. Lucky Series. Produced between 1975 and 1980, these hand-painted ceramic pieces were designed as miniature liquor decanters. The assortment features various leprechaun characters including Mr. Tourist (1980) with a suitcase and dog, Mr. Dentist (1980) in a white coat, the Sandman (1975) with a sack labeled SANDMAN and a bunny, a Piano Player (1980), a Cobbler (1975) with a hammer and shoe, a Harpist (1975), a Doctor (1975) with a stethoscope and frog, a Pipe Smoker (1975), a base with a pair of Carolers, and a lady leprechaun in a green dress and hat. Several figures retain their removable head or hat stoppers and partial paper tax stamps indicating a volume of less than 1/2 pint. Markings on the bases include incised text reading 1975 HOFFMAN, 1980 HOFFMAN, and printed text identifying the Mr. Lucky Series and Hoffman Distilling Co.
