Description
This industrial table lamp is repurposed from an antique gasoline blowtorch manufactured by the Otto Bernz Company of Rochester, New York. The lamp base consists of a cylindrical brass fuel tank with an integrated manual pump and a contoured wooden handle. The original burner assembly has been modified to support an upward-facing electric socket and a decorative glass shade. The shade is made of blown glass featuring an opalescent swirl pattern with alternating diagonal bands of translucent cranberry pink and opaque milky white. The form of the shade is bulbous with a distinctively crimped and ruffled rim. The black adjustment knob on the burner is embossed with the text OTTO BERNZ CO. ROCHESTER, N.Y. The fixture is wired with a standard brown electrical cord and a two-prong plug.
