Description
This is an octagonal wall clock, commonly referred to as a gallery clock, manufactured by the Waterbury Clock Co. of Waterbury, Connecticut. The clock features an octagonal wood case with a dark finish, likely mahogany or rosewood veneer. It is fitted with a hinged brass bezel and a glass dial cover. The cream-colored dial displays large black Roman numeral hour markers and a segmented minute track. It features two black spade-style hands and a regulation sub-dial located at the 12 o’clock position, which is marked with F and S for speed adjustment and numbered increments. The dial is printed at the bottom with the text MANUFACTURED BY WATERBURY CLOCK CO. U. S. A. A single winding arbor is located above the 6 o’clock position. The clock contains a mechanical, spring-driven, time-only movement. The reverse of the clock features a paper or cardboard backing secured to the wooden frame.
