Description
This set comprises a carving knife and matching fork featuring natural stag horn handles and decorative silver mounts. The handles are finished with sterling silver ferrules and pommel caps, each ornamented with chased and embossed scrollwork in a Victorian-inspired style. The pommel ends include an engraved script monogram. The carving knife is fitted with a carbon steel blade featuring a curved, scimitar-like profile and a clipped point. The matching carving fork is a two-tine design in carbon steel and includes a functional hinged safety guard. The word STERLING is stamped on the rim of the silver pommel caps. Based on the presence of the sterling mark without additional British hallmarks, this set is likely of American origin, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century.
