Description
This collection features a variety of woven baskets in multiple shapes, sizes, and construction styles. The group includes round, oval, square, and rectangular forms. Materials used in construction include natural willow, unpeeled willow, wicker, and wood splint. Weaving techniques vary from traditional stake-and-strand to flat splint plaiting. Several items are configured as nested sets. Some baskets possess fixed arched handles, while others include swivel handles or are handle-less. One rectangular wood-splint basket features a black fabric ribbon tie. Finishes across the collection range from light natural wood tones to deep dark brown stains and a weathered gray finish. No maker’s marks, labels, or stamps are visible on any of the items.
