Description
An American mid-19th century work table in the Rococo Revival style, constructed from walnut. The rectangular top is flanked by two drop leaves featuring shaped, serpentine edges. The case contains two stacked drawers, each showing hand-cut dovetail construction. Both drawers feature brass-lined keyholes, and one skeleton key is present. The lower drawer face is finished with a decorative scalloped bottom edge. The table is supported by a stoutly turned central pedestal that terminates in a quadraform base with four scrolling, pierced-carved legs. No maker marks or labels are visible.
