Description
A trio of metalware pieces of Cincinnati, Ohio origin, consisting of a pair of pewter chargers and a handled silverplated basket. The pair of pewter chargers feature broad scalloped rims with gadrooned edges. One charger is engraved with a central script monogram S. The reverse of one plate is stamped with an oval mark for Flagg & Homan, including the words Pewter and the model number 129. These items exhibit cast and lathe-finished construction. The silverplated footed basket is designed in the Victorian style with a fixed handle and ornate cast scrollwork and floral decoration along the rim and handle. It stands on four small cast feet. The underside is marked with a circular stamp containing an anchor and S, surrounded by the text Warranted Quadruple Plate Homan Mfg Company Made in USA. Additional marks include the model number 2540 and a Special Metal stamp featuring a bucket and hammer logo.
